The University of Nebraska–Lincoln is one of the nation’s Top 50 public universities, located in one of the safest and most dynamic cities in America.
Momentum is growing at NEBRASKA. We are larger and more diverse than ever before. Our faculty continues to conduct greater levels of life-changing research and creative activity. We are increasingly seen as leaders on issues of global importance. And we have engaged stakeholders who care deeply about our future.
We are firmly rooted in our commitment to our state and our three-part land-grant mission, and we enjoy the stability of and opportunities to collaborate through our partnership in the Big Ten Conference and the Big Ten Academic Alliance. As we come up on our 150th anniversary, I firmly believe that, because of our unique position, our best days are still ahead of us.
NEBRASKA has the opportunity to lead the way in addressing key global challenges. For example, we are leading the world in the effort to achieve food security with less stress on water resources, and we are shaping the vision for research and outreach when it comes to early childhood education.
On campus, we are committed to attracting many more talented students and serving them more eff ectively. Throughout the state, we are working to meet the needs of Nebraska’s workforce and economy. We reached an important milestone in serving the state’s economic needs with the grand opening in October 2015 of Nebraska Innovation Campus, where private business partners connect with the talent of UNL faculty to transform ideas into innovations. At full build-out, NIC will be a 2.2-million square-foot sustainable campus with uniquely designed buildings and amenities that inspire creative activity and engagement.
I invite you to learn more about our robust academic programs, diligent outreach to our state and nation, and research leadership as a distinctive Big Ten university.
